De Quervain's Tenosynovitis

De Quervain's tenosynovitis is a condition characterized by inflammation of the tendons and sheath that surround the thumb side of the wrist. This can be caused by repatative movements, holding heavy objects for extended periods (holding a baby) etc. It typically causes pain, swelling, and difficulty with gripping or moving the thumb. Electroacupuncture is a highly successful treatment option to alleviate pain and improve function associated with De Quervain's tenosynovitis.
