De Quervain's Tenosynovitis
De Quervain's tenosynovitis is a condition characterized by inflammation of the tendons and sheath that surround the thumb side of the wrist. This can be caused by repatative movements, holding heavy objects for extended periods (holding a baby) etc. It typically causes pain, swelling, and difficulty with gripping or moving the thumb. Electroacupuncture is a highly successful treatment option to alleviate pain and improve function associated with De Quervain's tenosynovitis. This technique involves the application of electrical stimulation to acupuncture needles inserted at specific points along the affected muscles and tendons. The electrical current helps to modulate the activity of the nervous system, promoting the release of endorphins and other natural pain-relieving substances. Along with modulating pain we use electroacupuncture aim to reduce inflammation of the tendons and allow for proper function. By incorporating electroacupuncture into a comprehensive treatment plan that may include rest, immobilization, and physical therapy, individuals with De Quervain's tenosynovitis can experience significant pain relief and improved functional ability, allowing them to resume their daily activities with greater ease.
